does the kp3 work as a midi interface?

Post by 4NDRW »

cant see any love in my searches for this simple question, so i assume it cant..
but some of my other korg usb gear can do this (eg. micro-X) so worth an ask anyway

but if it can, it would make a slick solution for when i want to play around with music stuff on my gf's macbook.

that's an extremely vague question. obviously it has midi ins and outs as well as an interface, so could in one sense be called a "midi interface."

if you mean, can you use it to play notes on a keyboard, the answer is yes, but you need to do a little 'hacking' of the midi signals. i can set you up with a bome's midi translator patch that will do the trick, but you need a copy of bome's for it to work properly (~$80).

probably i should just re-write the code in a free software environment but i'm lazy.
