Using the pa1xpro for recording mutli-track

Post by sel »

Dear all,

What is the simplest setup I could have involving my korg to do PC multitrack recording?

I was thinking Korg --> A/D -->USB_input_to_PC

Could I possible us the digital output from the keyboard and avoid using an additional A/D?

If I cannot do that, do you recommend an A/D that has minimal controls on it? [because I plan to control/edit my sounds from the keyboard].

Thank you,

Sel

Hi Sel,
This is not my area of expertise but Ill have a go.
Unless your computer has Digital Audio In then I think the Digital Out in your Pa1x will be pretty useless.
If most of your sounds you want to record are from the Pa1x itself I'd be inclined to use the Sequencer mode to lay down your tracks, mix it on the Pa1x then record the stereo signal to your computer via normal Left & Right Out. You can then add vocals or other live instruments to your PC recording.
I'm sure others have much more to tell you or better advice.
Best,
John
