Syncrosoft license problem. Help!!

Post by Hef2thef »

I recently bought a Intel imac. I installed my legacy collection on it. It worked fine as a stand alone application but would not open as a vst or audio unit. Done some research and found that I had to update to KLC1.2.2 cause I was now using it on a intel mac. In order to do so I had to purchase a syncrosoft license key. I downloaded the KLC 1.2.2. I have attached a screen shot to show the error. It's saying that my OS X version is older than panther when its actually leopard 10.5.7.
Any help would greatly be appreciated.
Cheers!!

sorry no screen shot but this is what it says.
"ATTENTION!

The Syncrosoft License Control cannot be installed on this computer, because the installed operating system version is too old. At least system version Mac OS X 10.3 ('Panther') is required![/img]

You're not the first, you won't be the last. If there's a moderator out there, can we please have the topic as a sticky? This seems to be a recurrent problem.

OK Hef. The installer has 2 problems.

1) The uninstaller doesn't uninstall the previous old installation, you have to do it manually (we're talking apple macs here).

2) The embedded installer for syncrosoft gives the warning you received. Everyone gets it, you just ignore it.

Please see threads like:

for other people who have had the same problems and have the solution.

From Martin Hines' post:

You should not have to update the eLicenser License Control Center software that often. The version you are running IS the most current version:
http://www.elicenser.net/en/latest_downloads.html

I would suggest the following:
1) uninstall the LCC center software
2) uninstall the KLC-1 v1.2 software
3) restart computer
4) With USB dongle NOT connected, re-install LCC v5.4.18.1
5) Insert dongle and run LCC software to verify the LCC software can "see" the KLC Licenses -- e.g. MS20 v1.2, MDE-X v1.2, etc.
6) Reinstall the KLC software, making sure you install the MOST current version. Looking at Korguser.net, that should be v1.2.2

7) If you still have problems, then contact your Korg Country Distributor's Product Support:
http://www.korg.co.jp/English/Distributors/index.html

It is very important that you work through any problem by contacting your Country Korg Tech support, since they have the ability to work with Korg Japan (who are the people who maintain the software).
