LE Manual Download and OS software updates

JUst purchased a used LE.

1. Does anyone have the link where I can download the LE manual?
2. Are there upgrades for the operating system on the LE?...if so, is it possible to load via the SD card the new operating system?

Le doesn't take SD cards, but SmartMedia cards... I'm not sure if there was some sort of adapter thing...
