Smartmedia EMX-1 question...

Post by chethedog(absent) »

Finally got myself a card. I understand some say it's unecessary for the EMX-1. Just overwrite the pre-loaded patterns! BUT I was getting close to full capacity. Wanted to dump the files onto my computer, and without midi capabilities right now ~ here i am.

So via smartmedia, I now have a .emx file copied to my computer.

Is this file, ALL patterns on the EMX, or just ONE?
Do I have to go through and save each individual pattern?

My intention is to save all my patterns, and wipe the EMX-1 clean.
I'd hate to wipe it while only having saved one pattern!
And i'm not in the mood to go and save ALL of them individually, if i don't have to.

Hmmm. I guess this is a newbie post. Been playing around for a while though. Any help would be much appreciated.

Take care,
Adrian.

If you used "SavAll" through global menu, than you saved all :).
You can wipe out your emx.
You can check it by deleting some of the patterns and load your previous backup.

so then the load one pattern option is to reload a pattern you've jacked up then wrote?

I really thought save all meant save all one pattern, but noticed when I did the load all, I lost a few tracks and they were replaced with presets

I've saved 30 or so patterns using save all, but obviusly have done something wrong here ..

now I am trying to load one pattern b.05 into a differnt spot..
and this is not working.
