Anybody get their MR-1 YET???
Haven't seen a single post online saying anyone's gotten their free MR-1 yet.
Anyone?

Wow, talk about timing.
I hope you get it. I'm always afraid that companies see everything I send in and they go "ahhhh, I don't like the way he sealed the envelope. DENIED." and I won't get it. It's not like they'll contact you and let you know you need a better proof of purchase or something's missing.
Hope you get yours. Let us know...

MR-1
I sent in the free Mr-1 form on May 1 and have not heard anything---I sent in the day the promotion was offered.
Im still trying to figure out the best way to use the Mr-1--- can you use this as a storage medium for M3 sounds----I heard is is basically a 2 track digital recoreder with very little editing capabilities.
I's appreciate knowing how others are using theirs--- putting all your master recordings as a basic archive---or using it in other DAW applications??

I want to do a couple things with it:
1. Use it instead of my PC for recording solo stuff (ideas, final tracks, riffs, whatever).
2. Record every one of our gigs so I can figure out where things sound thin or where harmonies are off, etc.
Number 1 is the most important for me though.
And as a side note, Jerry posted in a different thread that Korg was JUST starting to ship them out (via UPS I think). I sent in mine right after you so since nobody has seemed to have gotten theirs yet, I'm not as worried as I was a couple days ago.

Mine came in on friday, wasn't able to retrieve the package until today, i guess i'm one of the lucky firsts... after i sent in my redemption form, i did some searching on the net for reviews and demos... and i wasn't all that impressed by the included mic, but i have to say i got a perfectly clear and sharp recording out of it (i only tried it once)... it's a good product!
btw it does come w/ the external battery pack
here was the demo i was referencing... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ph2l8l6T6RA
my recording came out a lot clearer than the first one in this video did...maybe they didn't turn the mic gain up enough?[/img]
this will make recording my kids' choir concerts a snap (music teacher here)... i think the last time i did it i set my Triton Extreme up to do a 2CH mix to media... actually didn't turn out bad

so check THIS out. I JUST got home from practice and I had a box at my door from Korg.
YAY!!!
In it is the MR-1 but no external battery pack.
Packing list says it's there and the box says the order was hand packed. I think Jerry contacted 'em and told 'em to screw with me.
That's the only way I can figure that happened.
So now I have to call Korg and explain that while the box says it was supposed to be inside and the packing sheet said it was supposed to be inside. It wasn't inside.
Nothing's EVER easy...

p.s. it shipped FedEx.

OK, check THIS out...
I called customer service a little while ago and explained that it didn't come in the box (but it said it came in the box).
From start of call to hanging up the call, the customer service person (very nice lady) had it taken care of and promised to get it shipped out in...
wait for it...
less than 2 minutes.
literally.
My biggest concern was nobody would believe I didn't get it and it would take weeks of support calls to convince someone to just send the thing so I'll quit calling. I'm normally on hold with most companies longer than that just to talk to someone.
Thanks Jerry (and Korg) for the great customer service. We really appreciate it when a live person answers the phone and doesn't jockey you around to different departments because "they" don't handle it.

that's awesome! yeah it's amazing how good they are anymore, wish OTHER companies were as amiable on the phone. I haven't had a chance to do anything w/ mine all week... bogged down w/ a 2-week INTENSE grad class on Kodaly. Hopefully i'll have some time this weekend.

I have a gig on Saturday (we open for the Ides of March) and I'm hoping I can talk the sound guys into giving me a line out straight into it. I'm curious what we sound like at the board (and how it performs with a decent signal).
I should REALLY look into the manual before hand.
Looks nifty though. the size is perfect for what I want to do. Anything larger would probably never get used.

MR-1 Arrives
Got mine in the mail this week- about one month after buying the M3. Looks like a very cool little box...
it is. Works pretty slick. The external battery pack certainly helps also...
