Kant get the Kontrol editor working in nanopad

Hello,
I love this little beast, and Ive got it working in Sonar. It plays whatever synth I set it for, but I CANT get the Kontrol to edit the thing. What am I not understanding? I try to change the note on a pad using the +/- control, and I see the note change from, say, C2 to C#2, but there is no change in tone when I hit the pad! I tried messing with the global setting and the individual pad midi setting and nothing seems to help. Ive tried different midi ports, restarting the machine(its XP) and reinstalling the driver. Your advice is very much appreciated.

Hey,
the guy who sold me the nano explained it to me over the phone: you gotta use WRITE SCENE before you can hear the edited change. Guess Im lucky hes a nice guy, or he could have just said: try reading the manual idiot.
