Brain drain

Post by rhino4 »

Mike Conway....how much money would you charge me to spend one or two days with you teaching me all the in's and out's of the Oasys? I don't live that far from you and could probably get a "human smuggler" to get me to Vegas within a day. I learn better by hands-on training. I need to learn the theory of how the Oasys is arranged and how it works. I have too many keyboards to always learn how they all work. Each one has its own personality but I see the Oasys will be my work horse so I want an expert to show me "nuts and bolts" of this machine. So if I can drain your brain, let me know.

16, 16, 16, 16, etc, etc. That would be number of programs in a Combi, number of MIDI tracks, number of audio tracks, number of FX processors, number of panpots, sliders and many general parameters on the screen. That's my quick way of summing up the general architecture.

There are a couple of people that I tutor for $25 an hour. I would be happy to get you started, if that's what you want. My schedule is pretty open this summer, so whenever.

I'm really trying to get DVD 2 out, before summer ends. If you would rather wait, it's on the way.

End of summer would be great because I don't want to hold up the VOL 2 project. After all I want it too! Also it will cool off by then and makes traveling the desert more comfy. I will get in touch with you around Sept an we can set up a date to meet. Thanks for the fast reply.

That is interesting, and depressing. :-/

Dan must have the Legacy Collection sales data, and if that's not great, or there is piracy even with Syncrosoft, then woe is us. :-\

I would point out though that I interpreted the idea from Vermeer was as an additional option to share and extract value from the historical Oasys investment already made by Korg, not so much a way forward for new investments, notwithstanding a presumably modest new investment required to port the Oasys code to modern generic PC/Mac platforms.

(I assume modest, at least in the case of the PC, because of what I recall constituted the Oasys hardware core).

I personally would love the option to buy such a suite and add it to my Arturia and Native Instruments suites (I also have the Legacy Collections of course!), with Triton Extreme main controller. I would expect a similar price to those suites, just to be clear.

Just another data point...
