I'm new to this board so hello everyone.
I just bought a used D16XD from someone on craigslist.
He said the problem was the hard drive and the channel select would blink
none stop on start up. So I had a friend (a electrician) open it up,
He found what he says is a burned mosfet (I don't know what that is)
But my problem is if I plug anything into inputs 1-8 XLR or 1/4' jacks
I get no audio. The trim leds blink green and red so audio is coming in,
But its not making it to the Master or Monitor outs.
The Rec/play is on red for Record more I looked over the manual and did everything it says.
I also tried different Sample bit depths nothing, no audio.
I posted the same question over at StudioTrax.net , and no one ever had the same problem im having. Now if I turn the trim knob all the way up with all the gains pump all the way up I can her audio but it comes out harsh with lots of static.
It used to be a ACB-8 in the machine,
But I removed it. I think that may have helped blow the mosfet, as when
the ACB-8 is installed it cant be fully seated or the machine wont start.
Part of the ACB-8 board has to just touch enough to get a connection.
Thank ahead for all your comments.

If your getting activity within the Audio trims leds, then you have audio coming into the D16
You have to setup your mixer inputs,so that audio is passing through the Mixer first before you can record.you simpy don't plug it in and hit record.
If you inputting line level deivces(Keyboard etc)then make sure the Pad button is presseddwon on the Inputs,if your inputting Mics then it need to be up.,set your trim till the audio is just flashing now and then over the green into orange/red and then back it off a little
Goto the "Input/output assign" page, then select "Submix1-8" tab at the bottom
this is your mixer assignment page, select the first channel (1) and underneath the "C" is a radio button turn it on by pressing on it,here you also assign the pan position of the input tracks, then below this is an Input trim knob,(it works like a fader on a Mixing desk)turn it all the way up to 100,do this for all your channels, you should get audio signals coming into the mixer now from your external sound sources.
After you have done this and want to record some audio,go back to the input output page and assign source 1 to channel 1 and then arm the record button on your d16XD hit play and record and jam.
if this doesn't work then you have a problem with your machine.
