i have big problem with my zip hard driver her is the situation:
my pc with xp pro operating system
MOSCHIP MCS9835CV Serial/Parallel Multi I/O PCI Card installed
every driver install
now i connect my zip hard drive to my pc through 25 pin male cable
now how i can transfer sample from pc to zip drive??? i can’t find any new device in my computer !!! strange btw i format my zip drive by my triton and working fine
I'm assuming the 25-pin connection is your parallel port (where printers and modems used to go?)
The Parallel connection on a PC is not plug-and-play, you definately need the drivers for your device.
If you know the name of the device you should be able to find its device driver on the net, although if it is parallel that is old tech and you may not be able to get Windows XP drivers for it...
This isn't really a triton classic problem by the way, you might have got more attention if you had posted somewhere else on the forum.
anyway, you might be better off getting a new USB zip drive for your PC. don't think they will be that expensive, although zip drives never took off...

I use a Zip Drive also. You would be much better off getting a USB Zip Drive for your PC. I have the SCSI ones in my Tritons. It's really not a good idea to switch a scsi or parallel anything in and out of a PC.

Parallel??? SCSI is not parallel. A SCSI card uses the same DB25 connector, but there is no way you could connect a SCSI device to a parallel port. You need a SCSI card.
Like this one:
And here is the box:
And some information on SCSI connectors:

i had scsi card in my pc !!!
but i don’t have the driver of zip drive
i think the main problem is the driver
because the pc cant recognize the zip drive
well, it says in the name (and I just read the page):
"Serial/Parallel interface"
"adds two serial ports and one parallel port to your computer"
does not mention SCSI... thus not a scsi interface.
SCSI is vastly different from the kind of interface offered by a parallel port.
The problem is not that you don't have a driver disk, but that you don't have a SCSI card in your computer.
I don't think the drive would need drivers as a SCSI disk, not sure though as i've never tried it.
Anyway, you are still probably better off getting a brand new USB zip drive.
(by the way, sorry, when I said it was a parallel drive, I forgot that you had said it was working on the Triton)
