Important to you, not to the rest of us. Sorry to soapbox for a moment, but it always irks me when someone comes in and demands that they be given a solution to their problem from volunteers for free because it is important or urgent.Torpedo wrote:I have Korg TR76, and I want to use it on Vista 32bit SP2.

Anyway, what exactly do you mean by 'the TR is not recognized by Vista'? Korg's MIDI drivers are more confusing than most in that there are *two* steps. You install the software first, which *doesn't* install a MIDI device (because it's a general driver to be used with any of their keyboards). What *does* get installed is an application that lets you add or remove MIDI devices for your individual keyboards. I'm assuming you've gotten this far.
I can't remember the exact order of the next two things that will happen. Either you need to plug in your TR, Vista will detect it and try to add a driver, and then you go to the Korg application to activate the MIDI devices for the TR, or this happens in reverse: plug in the TR, Vista does nothing, go to the Korg app and activate the TR, which makes Vista install the drivers.
That's how it's supposed to work. What you should do is start by uninstalling everything and unplugging the TR, then install the app, then plug in the TR and see what happens. If nothing happens, go to the Korg app and see if the TR is recognized there. If Vista adds a new device, go the Korg app and activate it. If nothing still happens, it's either a problem with the TR, with the Korg drivers, or, most likely, with Vista itself. Try searching around the forums; maybe someone else has posted about that before.
I can't really be any more help than this; I don't use Vista myself, so I can't try it out with my TR.

I solved the problem with Korg Apps adding the TR76.
In the same way I done this for my Korg R3, and the drivers were installed correctly but no MIDI data are exchanged with my pc. It's very strange...my R3 it's fondamental, great synth and control keyboard for my Virus Ti Snow...
Do u have same idea ?

I don't know about Macs, but I just installed my TR61 on a Vista PC. It's an unusual installating process for Windows.
1. Download the driver package.
2. Unzip the driver package.
3. Install the setup software that is in the driver package.
4. Connect the USB cable between the TR and the PC. This will look like it's installing, then throw an error message saying something like "It doesn't work dude!".
5. Go to your "Start" menu and select the Korg folder.
6. Select the "Install Korg USB MIDI device" app.
7. Follow the instructions in this app, and you should be able to get the USB connection to work.
Worked great on my Vista laptop. Hopefully this will help anyone that can't figure this out. It's strange to need to do the extra step on a Windows PC to install the device itself after the USB driver has already been installed. Hopefully this is similar on a Mac, but I have no idea really.
