mini kaoss pad connection

Hello, I recently purchased a Korg mini-KP and i was curious if it was possible to connect this to a microKORG (or any other type of keyboard).

I have found information about hooking up a KP3 to a microKORG but nothing about hooking up a mini-KP.

c'mon, is there something stopping you from trying it?
it's an FX box, you can plug whatever you want into it...

well the way they tell me to hook up the microkorg to the KP3 involves MIDI stuff and the mini-kp has no MIDI inputs/outputs.

there's an audio input.
there's an audio output.
is it so hard to understand?
the audio input comes from a keyboard, or whatever.
the audio output goes to speakers.

in that case, please let us know if you're looking for midi connections or just audio connection. It's hard to give a good answer if you only give an open question like that. so to rephrase myself: it's exactly the same as with the KP3, minus the midi. hope this helps

im thinking of getting the kaos mini pad would i be able to connect this to my cdm 3600? this might be a stupid question but c'mon im only new

its an audio effects processor - you can process anything that produces a line signal, just connect it to the line-out connections of for example:
- Synthesizer Keyboard (looks great tacked to the right hand side of my TR61)
- Laptop
- PC
- Mixer
- Guitar Amplifier or active preamp guitar
- Other effects units (or for example more Kaoss Pads

)

then connect the output to your speakers/hifi/recording interface/mixer/whatever you're using...

example connections:
keyboard output > KP > Amplifier
keyboard output > KP > Mixer/Audio Interface > PA
Audio interface out bus (e.g. 3/4) > KP > Audio interface input bus
Mixer alternate out > KP > Mixer input channel (don't switch this channel to alt out:P)
Kaossilator > KP > KP > KP > Headphones

etc....

you will need an adaptor sometimes to connect jack sockets to phono leads... being marketed mainly at DJs, they decided to put phono leads on...
basically you should treat it a bit like a stereo guitar effects pedal or rack unit or anything else of the sort... audio goes in, gets modified, and comes out.

if you connect it to an FX send bus on a mixer, those are usually mono and you will need to switch the KP to send-mode so that it only outputs the wet (modified) signal, not the mix of dry and wet that you get in insert mode. that is because the mixer mixes the FX output back into the mix. the point that it is mono is why i recommend you use the alt3/4 bus on a normal (not DJ) mixer, then you can also switch out which channel(s) you want to route to it.

basically, my opinion is that if you cannot figure out how to attach audio inputs and outputs, you have absolutely no place spending $400 on something you clearly don't know how to use.

it's pretty simple. it's like a VCR, my mom insisted she couldn't hook one up at 35 years old, when i was a little kid i was able to do it in a few minutes.

if you need someone to tell you to put an audio input into the thing that says "audio input" then you are truly and utterly hopeless.

sorry to be harsh, but i can only hold so many hands and this is ridiculous.

i'm curious...can a mini kp be used with a bass guitar...? will the low end of the bass tone be remained...?

yes, it is a digital effect processor so it doesn't really impact the sound quality at all. depending on what effect you use.

thing with using it with a guitar or bass though is that you can't just hook it up to the jacks, you need a preamp first so the best place to put it is in the effects loop in your amplifier, or some other similar arrangement. it really depends on your other gear.

also, bass doesn't really benefit from reverb or delay... just makes it muddy. But you can use the flange, distortion etc... Personally I'd want both though and so you'd need two mini-KPs... also the KPs are stereo but almost all guitars and their amplifiers are mono, so you wouldn't benefit from the complete use of the KP.

I'd instead recommend that you invest in a multi-effect pedal. I used to have a Boss GT6B that I used with my bass and it was great, obviously there are more budget models. you can also use them before your amplifier if you wish. or as I often used it, not with an amplifier at all because most bass effect pedals come with a variety of different amp simulations.
Korg also make some great bass and guitar effect pedals in the form of their AX range.
Just have a look at the guitar effects section on their website.

if i wan a multifx bass pedal wif a looper...wat would u recommend then...? (my budget is not high though...)
