no sound output - korg zero 8, macbook and desktop speakers

Post by dionisio »

Hello people i have finally got my korg talking to the laptop and have audio and midi on channels 7 and 8 and can see lights on the channel fader. WHat i want is for my laptop to play audio/midi samples/loops and for the korg to control effects etc. I cant however get any sound to come out of my speakers when the output is set to the korg. I am using PC speakers (logitech z4) that are plugged into my laptop with the small green audio cable, do i need to get a jack and make my audio plug bigger and put it in the booth out L&R in the back of the mixer? I think i have a cabling/plug issue and dont know how to connect PC speakers to a mixer to produce sound

2 options

Option 1 (Simple)

plug your powered speakers into the master or booth output of your Zero. You will need a new connector...... or some better speakers!

Option 2 (Much more involved)

You could aggregate your zero sound card and the built in one or your mac book, look up aggregate devices on apple.com.

Then send the Master output back to your internal sound card.

I am not exactly sure how to walk you through the whole thing, and, (it is big and), i have heard that aggregating korg mixers makes them really unstable! So beware.

thanks DJ TBA i got it working :). ended up getting an adaptor to go from my sub/speakers into the 1/4 inch headphone jack now my speakers are working fine. Booth needs 2 1/4 inch plugs and probably a diff cable? i dont know what difference this will make?
