R3 Sound Editor

Post by Blankman8503 »

I recently got an R3 and want to upload new patches to the synth. I have turned off the write protect and enabled SystemEx on the R3. When I connect the R3 to the computer via USB and open the Sound Editor I do not have a R3 1KBD/KNOB as a MIDI In or a R3 Sound as a MIDI Out. What could be causing me not to have such options?

Have you installed the USB-MIDI driver?

Windows mistakenly installs its own drivers which don't correctly work with KORG products.
so even after you install the driver, you still have to associate it with the device using the utility:
Start > Programs > KORG > USB-MIDI Driver > Install KORG USB MIDI Device

select the R3 and hit 'install'. if it comes up with a driver signing warning, just click continue.
