**** Is my M3 dead? Heeeelp!!! ****

Post by korgyfan »

I got no sound on my M3-73. Very very quiet. I can barely hear some distorted super quiet hissing/whispering sound when Karma is on or when I press keys. :-(
Tried connecting to my A/V Receiver or Headphones - same thing.

I followed the manual and did a full factory reset. That didn't help. :-(

What do I do? I bought M3 over M50 because it is made in Japan vs China, so I was hoping to see a good quality keyboard. I was so happy to buy it.

I don't know what to do... If anyone experienced the same and knows how to fix it, please let me know.

I would hate to ship it back to korg after using it just under a month...

If you are sure the cables are ok, and on the headphone also no sound, I think you have to ship it back to KORG. :(
Best regards

You probably already have...but did you check the connection from the module to the keyboard? Is is possibel it's not plugged all the way in. Otherwise, call Korg and see if they can walk you through some tests. Good luck and sorry for your problem! That would be very frustrating!

Sorry I was away for a week, just got back.

I don't know what I did, but when that happened again (sound loss), I gently tapped it from the bottom and sound came back up. I then made sure cables are well connected and they seemed so. My wife played for a week and said that it never happened again, so I am not sure if my magic tap helped or if there is something loose inside the unit?

Thank you all for your input. Greatly appreciated!

:( happened again. I turned it on, left it on for about 2-3 hours. They came sat to play and.....same thing, hissing sound...

Turned off, tapped again.... then it went away, but when I increase the sound, some notes will produce a distorted sound.

I am sending it back to Korg for the exchange.
