Hey guys
i have some tabla and various other persussion sampless that I'd like to playback on my laptop n play my harmonium along with it. So i was wandering if there is any software that i can use to play the loops continuosly and be able to change the tempo of it without effecting the quality of the sample. I use wavepad sometime but if you change the tempo on that it doesnt sound too good. Any suggestionss?
thnx

sample playback software
Pa800

Because your looking to change the tempo and keep the pitch in realtime, the only program that I know of that will do that is ACID.

You need to verify what I'm saying though as it's been YEARS since I used software like that.

Sharp.

Hi Nabil,
Since you are asking about percussion loops, use the Pa800/ Pa2x Sampling mode and the "Time Slice" function to convert your audio loop to a "Groove" file (.GRV) which contains short samples of each beat together with relative timings so the samples maintain the original rhythm. Then import the GRV file using "Import Groove" into a new PAD or a new STYLE wherever you want to use it. You will now be able to play the percussion loop in any tempo you want, you can use it as the basis for the percussion accompaniment in a new User Style as well.
You will need to read both the "Advance Edit" manual as well as the normal "User Guide" for all the details. Or buy the Korg Arranger Secrets DVD's in which Chris Whitehead demonstrates this functionality.
Best regards,
Rob
