Use Triton as MIDI to US adaptor??

Post by steffche »

Hi,
I was wondering if I could connect my Triton to my PC via USB..and a MIDI device to the tritons MIDI in/out ports..and then send sysex messages to the midi device via the triton from the PC? Hope that makes sense..

Basically, I have a MIDI solutions breath controller that I would like to re-program, but I dont have a MIDI interface on my PC..nor do I have a USB - MIDI adaptor..

Cheers,
Steve.

I've been doing this to program a MIDI Solutions Event Processor on my TR; no reason why it shouldn't work here, unless the controller expects to get power from the MIDI device - not all MIDI devices conform to the specs.
Keyboard Rig: Korg Kronos, Moog Sub 37, Waldorf Blofeld Module, Neo Instruments Ventilator II, Moog MiniFooger Delay, Strymon BigSky, Roland KC-150, Mackie 802-VLZ4 Mixer

..yeah the MIDI solutions box does require power via the MIDI ports. But it does power the box when its plugged in..so..one would assume it should work right?

So using the sysex editor on my PC, it should work to send commands/parameters to the MIDI device connected to my Triton via a USB cable connected between my PC and the Triton???
