Just ordered m3 m and looking to buy a 76 note controller to use in the band I am in, it will be the top board on my stand an apex ax90, which I've also ordered. What do you think of the CME boards, I am new to midi even though I am 50, any help would be great .
Thanks Danny

I am also very interested in knowing about CME keyboards.
Being mainly interested in controlling other keyboards/modules live (M3M included), and not in controlling some software, I am very interested in the 4-ports/4-zones functions of the VX series, but I never heard before about CME, and I don't know anybody using them.
Thanks!
Nick

I have a CME board/controller UF7, and i am quite happy with it. very decent build quallity..
But why buy a masterkeyboard and an M3M, if you can have both in one by buying the M3 73 keys version.
I use my 76 key masterkeyboard in a software setting. But i have come to the conclusion that a hardware instrument which includes both a keybed and the instrument is much better use in a live situation then a masterkeyboard.
Only reason for me to buy a rack version of M3 is when you want to controll if from another Synth workstation like Yamaha Motif XS, or from an arranger like Korg PA2Xpro.

Well, there is some added benefit. If you use an external controller, then the keyboard is not tied to the selected Track in sequencer. This is very useful for RPPR and working in keyzones from a master keyboard.
I use Fantom-G with M3-m. Fantom-G has a very very nice master keyboard feature.. I can very easily layer 16 midi channels on/off. So I can very quickly layer multiple tracks on M3-m by just turning on/off the channels 1-16. This gives me the ability to change sounds without cutoff. In M3-m I have layered track 1-4 on channel 1, tracks 5-8 on channel 2, track 9-12 on channel 3.. etc, and then I can play on channel 1 from fantom-g or channel2 or channel3 or all at once in different sections of performance, without the sound cutoffs that happens if you change programs or combis...

A couple of reasons, I had the 88 note m3 just sold it , too big for gigging.
The M3M is appox £1199 the 73 note is £2189 that's about £1000 more for 73 keys, and I really don't like the C to C key bed for playing live probably just me. I have the korg N264 which I use as my top board but the display is fading fast, and its getting old. So I figure if I get the M3M I can use the N264 till I get the new controller, and the added bonus it is more compact for stage use, and I save some Money
All I need to do now is to find out which 76 note controller is best for me.
Thanks
Danny
