"im really hoping for a good sequencer... i dont like my micron because of the sequencer... i also want something to go with my other gear not just SORTA take it over.."

well, this thing is meant to be a sampler, and the micron (if it's the alesis micron you're referring to) is a synthesizer, so it's hard to compare it.

if you're looking for a good synth with sequencer, you might wanna check out the new dave smith synth called Tetra. it's a tabletop unit with no keyboard (you can just connect the micron to it), but it's 4-voice polyphonic and there is a step sequencer PER VOICE. it's real analog as well, not virtual like the micron.

every sampler i have has a sequencer... i was only making a reference to the micron because its a keyboard with a sequencer thats complex and sucks (to me)... the korg seems somewhat simple on the surface for setting up a loop (like he did with the mic) in the video.. what about stringing them shits together...

Still no word on whether it has an SD slot to move samples on and off - perhaps only USB? Am I correct in thinking this is more like the K3 but more sample slots and less Kaoss stuff? Although if they put some Kaoss effects in the MicroKorgXL, then why not here.

when is Korg gonna stop with the MICRO label
I mean how stupid is the name microkorg XL (what is that "tinyExtraLargeKORG"?)

MicroKontrol
MicroKorg
MicroKorgXL
MicroSAMPLER
where's the microelectribe?

Is Korg doing what Apple did with the iPod shuffles?

just lame in my opinion.

If only the Radias didn't sound so thin, like most Korg stuff. I love the interface...

The Radias doesn't sound thin. It's a matter of how you program it.

Radias thin? That's a first. What exactly do you consider thin? If you don't mind me asking.

well they did two things right...
Twenty-one effect algorithms produce powerful sonic transformations
Developed for Korg's KAOSS PAD series, the effect engine serves up a great selection of effects – so important when editing samples. The twenty-one effects include not only traditional delay and chorus, but also ring modulator and grain shifter, and even a Looper that's derived from the Loop Recording feature of the KAOSSILATOR Dynamic Phrase Synthesizer.
and it has USB

I wonder what effects there are, though sadly there can only be one at once according to the specs.

It didnt mention what kind of card format was going to be used to save you're samples too, if you're not going to use the software.

And yeah...no mention of envelopes or filters!

Delay, Modulation Delay, Tape Echo, Chorus, Flanger, Vibrato, Phaser, Tremolo, Ring Modulation, Grain
Shifter, Pitch Shifter, Talking Modulator, Looper)

no step record though which im kinda bummed about... it may be a good add on for the esx but i dont think it will take the place of mine... it seemed so set up for the step record thing... the mapping out of the sampling thing via the different modes looks/sounds cool but i like the step action A LOT more ove just straight live... in a larger image i found i thought i saw quantize settings which is cool but not the same.. meh whatever

Well at this point it depends on price! for about no more than $300 I can see getting this for the few cool things it does, but for any more or even equal to that of an ESX....on NO WAY. As it has been pointed out, No Step Recording, No Effects routing, Only ONE master effect ( yeah you can resample but thats not what I want to do every time I'm performing), no envelope or filters...And all for the street price of $600?!?!?!

I guess I'll be continuing my search for the Korg Triton Extreme
Korg PX5d
Korg Quad
Korg KP3
Korg DS-10
Korg PadKontrol
Korg K25
Korg Monotron
Korg Electribe 2
Korg Electribe Sampler 2
