What will be happen with Blogoasys from Peter Mahr??

Post by rbox »

I have seen that he selling his Equipment incl. the Oasys :

http://blog.petermmahr.com/2009/09/09/for-sale/

The question is what was the reason? Did he find better Instruments or
has he change his concept or money problems??

So no Oasys = no Blogoasys???

For whatever reason, I hope that Peter is doing okay. These are hard times for a lot of us. We love you, Pete!

hi guys,

i always knew that the oasys community was and still is something special. :D thanks to all of you for asking, i am fine

i did not find any better instrument as there - at least in my opinion - is no better synthesizer / workstation then the oasys. it is just that i do not have any idea and do not feel the need to "compose" ... difficult to explain. it seems that i am becoming more a consumer when it comes to music ;-)

the content of the blog will stay there as it is. if one day for any reason it will be changed i will let you know in advance. but i do not see any reason for it.

Peter! I'm sure you'll come back to composition with new inspiration, sometimes a break is good! Happy you are fine :)

Your Muse will return... as soon as you stop looking for her. I really hate to see you sell that Oasys. You have done much for the Oasys community!

Good luck, Professor !

Hi Peter,

well, sometimes it is a bit frustrating to be into this music thingy, :(

I would not selling the big O because I am sure you will regret it later, ... I doubt you will leave all this music thing forever

all the best, Peter (your stuff sounds actually pretty nice :D ) !

Thank you for all your contribution to the forum and all the best on our way.
I hope you will step into the forum also in the future.
Maybe you´ll keep the big O for later .... after over 20 years of making music some of my con-musicians stopped playing music for several reasons (family, economics/job, illness etc) - but almost all of them returned after a while, ´cos they found out that playing and/or composing music is part of a musician that comes out sometimes stronger sometimes weaker, but it´s always there :D

best wishes

I think I know what you mean, I do sometimes wonder why I do it myself. If you're looking at logically it feels a bit pointless and hard work after a hard day's work. But the need for self-expression invariably takes me back, not to mention the fun of it all.

You were just getting so good too, especially with the quality of your mixes. Maybe you need more of a challenge having mastered so many things ?

Anyway ... hope you're doing well !

(Philosopher Mode: ON)

Life is - and we tell a story about it.
This thought is already a part of the story.

One makes music - or one doesn't. The rest is a story made up by the musician - or former musician.

Don't get me wrong: I deeply appreciate Peter's contributions to our community, his music (I learnt quite a lot from him) and I'm proud to call him a friend of mine. And I do feel - like many of you - the "need" to make music.
But I remember a long phase of mine in which I hardly made any music. Now one can think about this phase, reflect on it etc. - but all you actually do is making up a story and tell it yourself. It could be a story you like or one you don't like. In the first case you'll feel good - in the 2nd case most likely bad. Either way, the story simply has nothing to do with making music or not making music.

Hi Peter,
Sometimes the only true way to see how much you love something is to let it go........

I am sure you will miss it and come back. Best of luck.
