Which gig bag for the M50-73?

I'm getting ready to buy an M50 as a second board for gigging. Not sure yet if 73 or 61 key, but probably 73. What gig bags do people recommend?

I've read lots of posts everywhere about the fragile nature of the M50 (plastic and all that) and I've spent a fair amount of time in stores with it so I understand the concern, but I'm looking to focus on light weight for my gear this time around so I'd like to use a soft case, not a hard shell. I'll be hand carrying things and using my car so I'm hoping the risk is not that great.

So, two questions:

1. Is it reasonable/safe to use a soft case to gig with?
2. Which soft cases do people use?

Well, I would recommend a hard case because it's just so much more secure. I use to use a soft case for my LE and I was always concerned that "is it okay" etc.

I did check out the link you posted. I couldn't find any details relating to the weight of the case. Is that available somewhere?

The weight is not listed because the Cases I-III are custom made. But actually they've made a case just for the M50-61

With the info: "Weight: 8.8kg (15.6kg including Korg M50)"
So the case will unfortunately over double the weight of the keyboard itself. But on the other hand it will give your synth a good protection.

I have a hard and soft case for my M50-73. The hard case is for ALL gigs. The soft case if for taking it to practice (up and down 1.5 flights of a drywall lined spiral staircase).

I picked it the smallest 76 key gig bag at Guitar Center for 39.99. You have a couple inches of slop and each side but it does the trick.

But if you're going to use it for gigging, never gig without a hard case of some kind. Stupid and careless people are everywhere... even in your own band!

The hard case I have is the 76 key SKB ROTO and is lightweight and sturdy enough. It has movable cleats so the keyboard fits like a glove.

I'm not sure if they make one for the 73, but I have a Kaces gig bag for my M50-61 and it's been great! I needed to add a couple of foam blocks for a better fit, but between the M50 and the gig bag it is LIGHT, and so far has been durable. If you handle your own gear (Meaning not "roadies") with at least a little bit of care I highly recommend them. Zipper's been solid too.

FWIW, stay AWAY from GATOR cases. I have a GK-76 and haven't even had the case a year and BOTH zippers are broken and the case won't even close. The warranty is poo as they want you to SHIP it to them to replace/repair it which costs about as much as the case does!

Hard case ... protect your investment. there are to many elements beyond your control to take the chance.

All of my keyboards have hard cases ... and they ALL still work, and have had NO broken gear since 1982.
