OASYS 88 display flicker
Dear all,
I just got my hands on my newly acquire OASYS 88 last night, it was indeed the greatest WS on earth!
I have one question, for it's display, In some viewing angle and sometimes, I found there is a visible slight flicker or a slight wave pattern. But sometimes, it not happened.
this problem is not effect my working environment at all. But it just a bit annoy. I'd like to ask, is this normal? do your OASYS behave like this?
I do found one informaton about this problem in the OASYS's Operation guide "Depending on the displayed content, flickering or moire patterns may be visible." Is this explain about my worries?
Please help and cheers to you all, the proud owner of OASYS!

I hope everyone is using an UPS with their OASYS. For the $100 bucks they costs there is no safer way to protect your OASYS from brownouts, spikes, poor quality and total blackouts.Ultimate Dj wrote:Hey after reading your message I just wanted to make sure that you have good solid Power going to the Oasys. Cause its probably not but bad power does cause flickering.

Totally agree. Just for the sake of if the power goes out and not losing all your data its worth it. I hope everyone has one as well.Sharp wrote:I hope everyone is using an UPS with their OASYS. Agreed, Sharp. I use a UPS for live work with the Oasys and it has saved me from re-booting on more than one occasion following a power loss to the stage.Sharp wrote:

That's brilliant! I never thoght power failure on live stage will cause this much trouble. but if it happen without UPS there is 3 minutes waiting time till OASYS come back to work again.Ray wrote:Agreed, Sharp. APC are very popular brands.

Remember that the OASYS uses in around 130Watts when running flat out, so from that you can work out how long each model will keep your OASYS running for when the power goes completely out.
If your buying one make sure you get one that has a brownout feature. It's almost the most important function of a good UPS because your likely to hear the brownout function kicking in a few times a week as it ensures your OASYS gets a perfectly regulated level of power.
In my opinion this function alone adds years of life to any product connected to it.
