ER-1 problem

Post by H »

My ER-1 has just started thowing a fit. when i try to record and save any new patterns, it resets itself and either turns all the parts on over all 16 steps and plays them at 300bpm then shuts down, (probably due to overload) sound a bit like a helicopter, or it sits like a dumb s**t and won't make any sound at all, even though the parts are playing. Korg UK will have a look at it for £60 per hour, but i thought i'd ask hear first if this has happened to anyone else and if its fixable.

I would try to hunt down an OS update for it, doesn't matter how old... just so you can try to reload the os to see if it would make it work again.

If not, I would not recommend sending it to korg... they will charge you not only for hourly but for parts too... if it's anything mechanical or electrical then it will be cheaper to find another one on ebay that works.

The instructions on how to do it would be in the zip file with the os... so the only thing you gotta do is find it. Where it would be I have no idea... korg doesn't support it any more.
