How do you apply the vocoder effect?

Post by lkilmer »

I have the Effect Guide and understand the concept of carrier and modulator. However, manual doesn't explain how you route one patch to the left channel (carrier) and a different patch to the right channel (modulator).

Anyone know how to do this?

I have the V3. No HD recorder or flash ROM sample player.

I found a product review that seemed to imply that you needed one or both of these options to use the vocoder effect. Is that true?

No, it's not true.

All that you need is put two patches in combi or seq, insert a vocoder to one of them, rute the other timbre to the vocoder also, in page 1 pan one hard left (L not off) and the other hard right (R not prog).

On the vocoder page choose which timbre is the carrier and wich is the modulator.

If you have a PBS board, sample on your computer in aiff a vocal phrase. Then load it into the trinity, make a patch, and put this patch as modulator.
