Saving to EXBs

Post by cindinj »

Dear Korg Gurus who sleep with thier boards and have knowledge beyond that of us humble users:

Before I do something stupid... can I save settings into the EXB slots? They are all filled with those InitialProg settings (or non settings) now. What I'm wondering is can I assign settings I plan to use for a set into EXB A1, A2, A3, etc. so they are easier to access during a set as opposed to having to do so much switching around. If I can:

*Can both program and combi settings go there?
*Will the setting also remain in it's original place?
*If I tweek the setting a little can I save it "my way" in these slots and leave the original setting alone?

If this won't work, can someone provide me with another way to sequence my settings so I'm not doing so much punching and dialing? I've turned off the dreaded BEEP but the keypad on one of the boards I use is in pretty bad shape and sometimes I end up having to do a lot of punching and dialing to get to what I need.

TIA!! :D

Yes, you can save your own edits to every bank except for the GM bank.
Can both program and combi settings go there?
Yes.
Will the setting also remain in it's original place?
Yes.
If I tweek the setting a little can I save it "my way" in these slots and leave the original setting alone?
Yes, don't overwrite the factory sounds, save your edit to a new memory slot and you can have your own little area to work from as well as all yoru factory sounds perfectly intact.

Sharp.
