I Need Help....

Post by Ultimate Dj »

Hi,
I don't know what to do. I'm thinking of selling my Oasys and it kills me. :cry: its the last thing I want to do. But I don't know if I have a choice.
I'm returning to South America to my M3 and theres just no chance I can take it with me. I'm going to be down there for up to six months. I'm storing my trailer in New York where it'll be freezing while I'm gone. So it doesn't make sense to leave a $5,000 machine just sitting in freezing temperatures for no reason. So I'm thinking of selling it and possibly getting a MiKo/NiKo or that new beauty that Sharp revealed from Lionstrac.

so...does anyone want to purchase my Oasys and than sell it back to me when i return? :D

I have an Oasys88 and an OpenLabs MiKo-LXD with the best today available plugins. You cannot replace an OASYS by any OpenLabs or Liontracs product! Trust me. Never sell your OASYS and find a way to store it for the 6 month in a save place. As an expressive high quality instrument for a musician with a personal sound and expression, it is comparable with a steinway grand piano. The MiKo should be viewed as the perfect compact production system instead. It is finally a huge mistake to compare those products, only because they are both using a processor. The software architecture is so different, that you should view the OASYS as an extremely stabil, pure (and closed) hardware mega synth, built by people, who build musical instruments for demanding musicians. There are a lot of high qualitiy VST plugin using sounds with a lot of GB Samples, which are sounding great, but are absolutely unplayable on a keyboard, compared to the playability of ALL Sounds on the OASYS...
Good luck with your decision.

Hi DJ
I think you would be mad to sell the OASYS, but do you really need the M3 as well as the OASYS ?

If you really want a Open Labs Miko or Lionstracs Groove, I'd be looking at how much you would get for the M3 and how much more you would need to put to that. I don't think anyone has asked Lionstracs how much the new keyboards are but I bet they are not as expensive as a Open Labs keyboard.

Regards
Sharp.

Surely there is a storage facility somewhere in NY that has climate control
to keep the machine in an environment that would be above freezing, and that would hopefully not cost an arm and a leg.

I'd also assume you will store the Oasys in an anvil ATA style case or at the very least some sort of hard shell case with the locking tongue in groove
style hardware that keeps out the elements pretty well.

Look into the storage facility

hey Sharp
well I definetly don't want to be mad that's for sure :) but my M3 is around 6,000 miles from so I can't sell it unless someone in Colombia needs one. but maybe wat I need to do is jst get a MiKo/Lionstrac and deql with it all when I get back.

@schweats
yeah no doubt that's whatd I'd have to do. when I left it in Florida this last summer I got a temp segure storage room. its just for six months it adds up ya no?

@Dany
thanks a lot for breaking the two down like that. I knew it hypothetically but it helps to hear it like that.
any chance you don't need the MiKo? :D lol
thanks all.

Dudeeeee! If it's a decision between going to Colombia and my OASYS it's a no brainer...its goinna be my OASYS. Colombia can wait plus if you go there and get caught by the guerillas while you're out and about you won't see your Oasys again. Man use you head.

lol :lol: thanks a lot man. that really helps :P lol. but I figured that if I do get caught by the Guerrilla's they can just ransom me for my Oasys and they'll see they have no idea how to use it...so I'll get it back. :D
Besides I always have a Picture of my baby with me so I can always see it :D
