* Hooking up the TR rack to a USB keyboard *
I have a PCR 800 (USB keyboard) and I want to hook it up to my Korg TR Rack. Can anyone help me?
I read the manual and it said:
Keyboard:OUT > Module: IN
but I tried this and I got no sound.
For right now, I don't need audio cables because I will be using headphones. I just want to be able to hear sound through my headphones (no recording necessary).
thanks!

kontrol, thanks for the suggestion, but I had already tried that. Anyone else got suggestions ?Kontrol49 wrote:Make sure the Midi channels are the same to be able to control the Rack from your Keyboard
If the Global channel on the TR Rack is 1 then you need to make sure your Keyboard is transmitting on channel 1 also
thanks!

yes, if you don't have the USB connected. most controller keyboards draw their power from USB, or batteries and DC adaptors. you don't often get power from MIDI 5-pin din.BrysonPrice wrote: Do I have to use a DC power cord to power the keyboard when running it with a sound module or should that not make a difference?
also, some controller keyboards MIDI Out ports don't actually act as an output for the controller directly when connected by USB, instead they act as a MIDI output port for the computer, and you'd have to perform the routing in software (from the keyboard back out to its port), or there may be a setting on the actual keyboard.
either way, its an issue with the Edirol and not the Korg, so maybe you should seek support from them.
