Is this possible with Radias ?
Hi friends. I have a Radias. This thing is all you need in the synth world. But i still cant' figure out how can i use several midi channels simultaneously. Does the Radias support this option. I see that in the Global options there is a channel change - but when i use the first channel with my mpc for one patch and then change the channel to 2 the previous patch on channel 1 is changing too. So is there any way i can use 16 channels (or less) with Radias. I can use this way my Yamaha Motif with the MPC when using it's SONG mode. But i don't see anything like this on Radias.Thank you.
The radias has four timbres, and each can be set to its own channel and keyzone.
so you can get (up to) four sounds at once. understand that we're talking about Timbres and not Programs.
the Programs are actually a bit like Combi mode on a korg workstation (actually more like multi mode on the Access Virus, because the timbres are unique to the program and not referenced from a Program Mode).
the best way to go about it I find is to create a program for your song/project. then set up/create sounds on the four timbres, and assign them to different channels.
in some setups, I will send a program change to the Radias' Global channel to get it to the right program, then have four timbres on other channels (actually it is okay to keep one on the global channel).
when you set the channel in global mode you are setting the base channel that the radias responds to for program changes, sysex and parameter dumps, etc. to set channels for individual timbres, look at the Timbre: MIDI page (When editing on the device).

Yep, it's like a mini multi-timbral workstation in that regard.
You just have to use an external software sequencer to get the most from it, or set key-splits for live playing use.
