Zero4 & Ableton; strange routing issue

Post by Bobby Chombo »

I've just got a zero4 and I am having a truly bizarre I/O issue.

I've set up 4 tracks in Ableton, each is assigned to a stereo output (1/2, 3/4, etc). I would expect that with this setup sound from track one in Ableton would play through channel one in the mixer, and so on down the line. Instead the output is as follows:

Track one (outputs 1/2) plays through channels 2 (L) and 3 (R) on the mixer.

Track two (outputs 3/4) plays through channels 3 (L) and 4 (R) on the mixer.

Track three (outputs 5/6) plays through channels 4 (L) and 1 (R) on the mixer.

Track four (outputs 7/8) plays through channels 1 (L) and 2 (R) on the mixer.

Anyone encountered this issue and, more importantly, know how to rectify it?

Cheers.

I expect you have sorted this by now, but if not. In Ableton go to Preferences, then go to the Audio tab. Below the soundcard dropdown is Channel Config buttons, Hit the output config. Now select the steroe outs for 1/2 3/4 5/6 and 7/8 and deselect all the mono outputs.

Hope that helps

Edit..... actually, that might not help at all as you are get channel cross over :S
