D888 Stop recording - system busy for long time

Post by Till »

D888 recording
I often make recordings - four to eight channels - upp to 1½ hour in one recording. When i stop the recording the system display answers with "Working" and this busy watchsymbol.
This is going on for up to 40 minutes...
What happens? Is there anything wrong in my D888?

OBS ---> New
I tested this evening and the fault occurs when i first make a recording of about 10 seconds, then stopping and later starting the recording again on the same "song".
But what happens that makes the long "Working" time after 1 hour recording then ??

Stopping the system by switching off power results in lost files/tracks.

Looking forward to hear from anybody,

This is a "feature" of D888. Yours is not defective in any way.
There are two simple rules to avoid seeing the "working" message for more than a few seconds...

1) Never start recording into a new song or an existing song except at zero seconds (the song start).

2) If recording over the top of an existing song track, start from zero seconds, and make sure you finish recording after the end of the original recording on that track (or virtual track) so the new recording completely over-writes the original one.

If you are forced to turn off your D888 while "working" is displayed you may find that there is one or more temporary files containing the last recorded audio, but you are strongly encouraged not to do this - follow the two rules set out above to avoid the necessity.

I have learned to use D888 so that I have not had this problem in over a year now.
