Niacin - kickass fusion organ power trio

Post by chansensturm »

Please thank John for sharing his patches with us. It is indeed generous for musician will share their proprietary "sound" with the public.

Bravo !

Sincerely,
Craig Hansen-Sturm

jerrythek wrote:Thanks for all the nice comments - but the thanks go to all of you for your purchases and continued support of the mighty OASYS. We're pleased to get you these new sounds and all we ask is that you make some great music with them. And post some examples from time to time!

I'll add one cool detail that we didn't promote per se...

The new CX-3 organs were made in conjunction with organ great John Novello:

http://www.keysnovello.com/

he has a unique approach to getting his organ sound, mixing real Rotary Speaker with some distortion effects and more. It was a real learning experience for Jack Hotop and myself to work with him.

Again - enjoy the sounds.

Best regards,

Jerry

Dear creators at Korg: Thank you very much for this present!

Guys, isn't it always great to receive a mail from KORGUSER.NET starting as: "Dear OASYS user, Korg is pleased to announce..."? I felt excitement and joy. Downloaded immediately and will try a.s.a.p. .

God bless you all,

Great day yesterday. Of course after opening up and downloading, I fought hard to try and get anything else done for the day except playing with the new sounds coming out of my Oasys. Finally broke away to get stuff done, but I'm back at the sounds today! There are some great sounds as well as subtle and tasty Karma scenes going on with them. Great holiday gift, timing was perfect!

:D Excellent news, and a wonderful suprise in my emails

aaaaaaarrrrrggggghhhhhh :!:

This has made me a little frustrated!
My Equipment is all packed away and has been for the last 4 weeks as I'm in the middle of a New studio Build!!and all gear will be out of bounds for a further 6 weeks    !!! :? I have little time for playing let alone trying out this new update.... Shame as I'm dying to try out these new sounds given my absence from anything musically creative for what seems an eternity!!! :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

Thanks to Korg never the less.... :D :D

Will this Update be obtainable on a CD from the Local Korg distributor upon request??given my lack of gear within earshot would make things a little easier, plus I still haven't updated to 1.3 yet??

Thanks for the great programs and combis!!!
The OASYS is unbeatable. I am waiting for the Winter-NAMM 2010, but I doubt that there will be any big surprise. If this proofs to be the case, I will purchase a SECOND OASYS-88 next year! Unbeatable as the world's most powerful and expressive live synth and as THE secret weapon in the production process, the OASYS still remains the legendary Queen of all Synthesizers...

Just coming back to this thread to say an extra thank you. Just got the sounds loaded up yesterday and had a great session playing with them. As always top quality work from Team KORG.

Thanks guys.

Why was the U-G bank used though ? That the factory pcg has two empty program banks U-A and U-B.

So anyone loading this new set who doesn't know how to send the sounds elsewhere in memory will likely overwrite EXs3.

Regards
Sharp

That's what I did! (no bank room left!)

And now the Exs3 (demo mode) has come back automatically!

Anyway, there are some good bass sounds in those programs.

I'm glad that you like the sounds!

Note that the documentation for the new sounds has step-by-step instructions for loading into different banks.

Hi Dan.

Sorry, I never looked at the documentation.

It's no big deal, I just found it odd that KORG would use U-G and overwrite EXs-3 when there's two free banks available in accordance to the factory preload pcg.

I always check what a file contains before I load it anyway so it made no difference to me, but I can bet others loaded the file straight in erasing EXs-3.

Or.... did you guys do that on purpose because you have plans for U-A and U-B further down the road

Regards
Sharp.

U-A isn't free; it's used for the EXs2 Programs.
U-B is used by some of the LAC-1 bonus programs, I believe...

In my own user, I swap the banks around as desired.
