<sigh>
No need to sigh, I'm just not someone who needs to read the documentation. I know how to operate the OASYS just as well as you do.
U-A isn't free; it's used for the EXs2 Programs.
U-B is used by some of the LAC-1 bonus programs, I believe..
In relation to the factory preset PCG, Bank U-B is completely empty and U-A only has 10 sounds.

Regards
Sharp

I'm very pleased to see that new stuff continues to arrive for the Oasys.

Great, then the next update will come from you? ;)
Seriously, half the fun with new update or new sounds, IS reading the documentation whilst its loading...
looking for word changes compared to previous documentation about factory presets and looking for Dans slight err of humour thats carefully placed somewhere in there akin to the parameter guide. (Although not much is written in these update guides to give room for this humour)

What I noticed from the new combis is that the programs which are unused are still left on "Play" instead of being "muted" as with other Korg-default combis.

It's always good to see new sounds coming from Korg!!! I had to wait a week to download as I was on holiday. It was definitely worth the wait.

I've owned the OASYS since Oct of 2005 and I have to say, I'm still blown away by the sound quality every single time I turn it on. Absolutely nothing compares!!

Thanks Korg Team!!

Hi Paulifra

You didn't do anything wrong. The 'a' isn't displayed.

The OASYS software is still version 1.3.3. The difference between 1.3.3 and 1.3.3a is in the installer, which includes sounds inadvertently omitted in the 1.3.3 release.

The update does not alter any of the sounds loaded into memory; it only updates the sounds in the factory folder on the disk. So, what you describe must have happened because of something else.

All of the factory sounds, including bank INT-F, are stored on the hard drive; simply re-load them as desired.

1) Press the DISK button.

2) Highlight (touch) the FACTORY file and select OPEN.

3) Highlight the PRELOAD.PCG file.

At this point you can either press LOAD - which will load Global settings and several Program banks......

Or, you can OPEN the PRELOAD.PCG and highlight PROGRAMS.

OPEN PROGRAMS and you will see the "BANK I - F" (internal F bank) .. Highlight it and LOAD it to get those programs back.

If you want, you can even load a single program, if you OPEN that I-F bank.

Sorry, possibly a dumb question here... I know how to load Programs and Combis into whatever bank -- but combis assume that programs are in a specific bank, right?

So with the new sounds, the combis sound wrong unless I load the programs into the default location of User-F -- but that's where the EXs3 programs are, so then my EXs3 combis don't sound right.

So.. is there any way of having both the EXs3 combis and EXi_XP combis loaded and sounding right? (short of going through every combi and manually updating it to point to the right program location)

This is a good question. For the answer, see the documentation that comes with the sounds!

Sorry Dan, that must be a pet peeve of yours (particularly since you likely wrote the documentation!).

So I guess the combis and programs need to be in the same corresponding banks, right? (ie if the combis are in user-c the programs have to be there as well?)
