Problems w/ Zero4 and timecode cds w/ Traktor Scratch Pro

Post by db2000 »

I can't seem to figure out why my timecode discs aren't allowing control over Traktor Scratch Pro. I am running a Zero 4, two HDX's with timecode discs on harddrives and a laptop running Windows 7 64bit with Traktor Scratch Pro 1.2.1. I have the traktor adapt running with channel settings set to CD/Line.

What I'm seeing is that in Traktor when I view my timecode setup their is a constant fuzz around the tables A & B indicating feedback and when I run track 2 on my HDX's their is a visual line moving throughout the tracks however I can't scratch and I can't load and play a song using my turntables, only by hitting the play button on the software. I have no problems with the firewire since I can hear audio through my mixer but again just no control with timecode discs. I would occasionally have this problem on Vista 32bit too but if I closed and powered everything off after a few tries it would work again. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

That's another reason backing the start of a beta test of whatever 64 bit driver Korg has been able to develop for Zero's line.

Since the 32 bits driver has already proved to have limited functionality in 64 bit environments, but functionality at least, it would not be surprising that -under different configurations- additional boundaries will be found.
And thus, gathering this info would be of value in case Korg decides to keep some customer support of the discontinued Zero 8, via driver updating.

Have you tried running in XP 32bit mode. Does your Win 7 allow that?

Also im confused about how you are using the timecode. Are you playing straight off the timecode CDs ? Have you ripped the timecode to the HD ?

I have never heard of anyone using the timecode on an internal HD cd player? Are you sure that it works.
