I dont really understand what you mean and need but with the software you
can do anything while the KARMA is running, thats what its made for.
I dont think someone can edit something while not being able to listen to it.

Hi Rayar,
Have you posted this question over at KLF in the KARMA software sections?

http://www.karma-lab.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=226

K-M3 does not have the capability to edit the entire combi. It is meant to edit the KARMA parameters, such as modifying or creating new GEs. What some users do is to employ both the Korg M3 Editor and the KARMA software. However, be that as it may, why do you want to edit in real time? You have the RTC controls on-board your M3 to alter your combis in real time.
Cheers,
Eric

M3 Chill

Post by RAYDAR »

I want that Cafe del Mar Chill out <lush stereo wide sound.i could get it with Karma 1 and Moss expansion and the rest of the exp's
I bet the Oasys can do it at 32bit
Maybe the M3 is more a Rock n Roll synth its very TOTO sounding.i do like it but Warm and Chill i cant bring it to that level.

Bear in mind that KM3 wont do nothing to change it sound and the way it sounds.
KM3 is completely something else that has nothing to do with sounds.

I did think exactly the same about the M3 and I want to produce exactly that style of music. The M3 is very much an all rounder, with a few great synth sounds and loads of rock and classical sounds, which was not necessarily what I wanted. Karma is great for creating original arp sounds etc, but the sounds aren't 'synthy' enough for my liking.

I recently bought a Motif XS which has far more synth / trance / chill-out sounds and performances (Yamaha's equivalent of Combis) which are very handily searchable by music genre categories. I was thinking of selling my M3 to fund a Virus Ti, but I don't want to lose the karma aspects so I'm working out how to drive the XS sounds with karma at the moment. I'll just have to keep saving for a Virus.

HOWEVER, I have recently seen the M3 in a new light after hearing qrobinez's music from the post on karma-labs here http://www.karma-lab.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16157

I'm now going to keep the M3, wait for qrobinez's ambient combi set, and sit down and learn how to use KM3 software which I believe he uses to create his excellent combis.

So to some up, the M3 doesn't have many of this style of sounds in stock form, but it is possible to create them as qrobinez has proven.

Cheers

Hi and Thank you to ye all for providing me with more options,Yes i have owned Yamaha's gear b4, i do like them but their customer connection is very distance its scares me but at least Stephen is still making time to help inspire and suprise us.
But even switching on the M3 and loading in different Exp's is exciting , i can't leave Korg, im still so in love with their gear, but i cant stop dreaming ,id like a about 6 new synthesis engines for it,assignable joystick controllers, two oval touchscreens ,Karma 3,poly arp and add the Q verb and call it K O R G A Q U A W A V E

Screw NAMM,and keep working with the M3

The KARMA M3 software allows you to edit all parameters related to KARMA in the M3 in real-time, while KARMA is running. And it allows you to edit all of the KARMA parameters which are "hidden" inside the M3 and cannot be edited directly.

What it doesn't do is edit all of the sound-related Korg parameters. It's not an Editor for the whole synth - for that, you use the Korg M3 Editor. KARMA M3 is strictly for editing the KARMA engine - in ways that is not possible on the keyboard itself. Hope that answers your question, and don't forget to check my M3 forums for KARMA-related help and more:
