Curvebender,

Any news from your authorised service?
I received an email from my national dealer telling me that my mail has been forwarded to the service center. That's all up to now.
I don't know where this center is located bacause was not written in the message I received, but the idea to package my O and sending around my country is something that in some way is disturbing me. I'll see.

Hey Drunky,

I've been ill the past week, so I haven't been able to move forward with the button issue.

BUT: my dealer told me that if I just bring the Oasys to the store (which is really near my house) it wouldn't travel any further. A technician would come and try and solve the problem at the store. This is somewhat reassuring, because I wouldn't have to worry about third party transport.

Now, my plan is to try and persuade the technician to come to my house instead! It's just a few hundred metres from the store, and like that I wouldn't have to transport the Oasys at all.

Wasn't there a guy in Switzerland who had a technician come over to his house and service his Oasys?..

Looks like my Oasys Program button is also exhibiting this behavior intermittently. I'm *really* hesitant to send this to my local authorized service center, though. A while back I was considering the ADATMOD and the guys I spoke to on the phone seemed pretty aloof.

I've found that slightly "pulling" the button towards me as I press results in a more consistent behavior... i.e. it seems to work fine with that additional tension. In light of this thread, definitely cause for alarm though.

Leo, same here, it's really weird! Many buttons that I "normally" have to press hard require just a light touch in disk mode... go figure!

Yeah, that makes no sense...

Anyway, I've postponed the service until after the holidays. I'll let you know how it goes.

Until then: Merry Christmas to everybody!

My local dealer gave me the possibility to buy new buttons from their stock to a reasonable price.

I will buy the buttons after the holidays, also if I'm not so sure that with new ones my problem will be completely solved. But I will follow all the intructions that the service indicated to me.

Merry Christmas to you all.

Drunky, are you talking about buttons or switches?
The button is the thing you phisically hit, the switch (soldered to the electronic board) does the work.
Sorry I'll try to explain in italian: hai un problema col pulsante o con l'interruttore?
I focus on this beacuse changing the switch implies some skill in disassembling the oasys and in desoldering/soldering electronic components.
The other reason is because I also tried to contact a spare part dealer (Mastertronics) and the official Korg assistance (Masterservice) for a panel pushbutton, but I did not get a reply from any of them.
So if you are talking about pushbuttons (pulsanti) I would also be interesetd in buying one.

Tony,

I explained my problem to the Italian dealer (Esound). I received an email from the official KORG assistance center (Masterservice) telling me that they could sell me the 2 new pushbuttons (Up and DOWN arrow). Nothing more then this.

If you want I can PM you the mail address wich I'm talking with.
Regards (ciao!)

Uh, yes please.
I had a info@masterservice.tk (Michele Paciulli gave it to me) but at this point I believe it's incorrect and I prefer not to mess with Esound.
So, thanks in advance if you will send PM masterservice's mail address.

By the way, very strange to write in english ( my maccheroni version) to another italian fellow, but that's netiquette!

I received the 2 buttons from my local distributor and in the next days I will change them. Then I will report here my comments.

Curvebender, what's happend to your ones? Maybe you have already received your spare parts and you did solve the problem. Could you please update me about your actual situation?

Thanks

I haven't had time to deal with the Oasys... Next week hopefully.

Are you going to replace the buttons by yourself? Isn't it complicated? Is soldering involved?..
