Slaving M3 to DP 5.13

Post by samoo451 »

I have been using my M3 strictly for live gigs since I bought it last summer. As of this week I decided to bring the M into the studio and use it as a module-slave-sound source.

A quick snapshot of my setup; I use a Power Mac Quad 2.5 gig OS 10.4.11 with Digital Performer 5.13 ( I know I`m slightly behind with OS and Performer but the system works great.)

I managed to set up the M3 so that I`m hearing it as a slave of my controller keyboard ( a Motif 6) but no matter what I`ve done, I can`t get the Karma-arpeg-drum patches to sync up with DP.
I`ve gone to M3 global and set up the M3 to receive external MIDI clock as the master ( I`m using MIDI as connection ) as well as having DP to transmit MTC to the M3. I know the M3 is receiving because it will change tempo when I move DP tempo up or down, It`s just not syncing and appears to be clocking at double tempo or even higher.

It is for these reasons why I have stayed away from hardware based synths in my studio for years already. The virtual stuff just seems to work so perfectly with clock issues...

Anyway, hope someone has some advice..In the meantime, thanx in advance for any help !!.
