I think I'm doing something wrong but I'm not sure what. When I set up a song to record I follow the steps in the manual but for some reason the 1st track plays on all of the tracks? I can't figure out what's wrong can someone help me out?
I will set midi track 1>drums
midi track 2>synth
all parameters will show the seperate tracks and audio info but the drums will play on each track...totally stumped
Same Instrument on ALL channels? can't fix this..stumped

You have to manually change the tracks to the midi track you want to hear. Click the arrow where it says "Track01: MIDI TRACK 01" and change to the the track you want to hear.black1980 wrote:I think I'm doing something wrong but I'm not sure what. Check out RichF's excelent tutorials on sequencing in the M3 on YouTube here...

They will guide you through the basic use of the sequencer and hopefully solve your problem. At 2:10 in the first video it shows how to change tracks.

Thanks for the info but I've already seen these videos. I know how to set up the tracks and midi and toggle between them but my problem is this...
if I set track 1-drums/track2-synth/track3 bass...now i play the drums...i then want to switch to the synth so i change the midi channel and click the synth track etc....the drums play not the synth....same on the bass track...does anyone have a clue why it seems that my 1st track plays on all tracks even though it's set up properly...if I'm doing something wrong I'm sure someone here knows

Why are you changing MIDI channels? Set them once, to be all different unless you intentionally want to layer two or more sounds together on the same MIDI channel, and leave your channel assignments alone.
When you play the keyboard, the current track sounds AS WELL AS any tracks that use the same MIDI channel as the current track. So if you set 1 to drums and then change its MIDI channel, of course the drums will play along with the synth or bass or whatever.

black1980... are you playing from computer or external keyboard or M3's keyboard?
If you are playing/recording using external keyboard controller, then you have to 1. Select Track that you want to play/record, 2. change MIDI Out Channel of keyboard controller. There is no MIDI OMNI feature on M3.
If you are playing/recording using the M3's keyboard, then you don't have to change MIDI channels. Just select the Track you want to play from the drop down menu that appear under the Song Name.
