Bass volume get down?
Hi all,
I noticed something very strange with my pa1xpro. When i have the mic plugged in the pa...then sometimes the bass volume get suddenly down.
for example: The volume was 120, it gets 27. (sometimes around 40)
I noticed this just when the mic is plugged in the pa. Is this a bug or am i doing something wrong?

You could always try a full re-installation of the OS and resources however it
sounds more like a hardware fault to me - get it checked out by your Korg service centre.

Hmm i would think of a hardware problem if it was everytime when i use the mic. However, i have just experience this almost 3 times. So not so much. I think it is a software issue..maybe something with the settings?karmathanever wrote:You could always try a full re-installation of the OS and resources however it

HI all,
I still got this problem. I have now noticed that the mic isn't the problem. The bass volume just get suddenly down. I don't get this every time...just sometimes. However it is very annoying because you can here it very clear..
What could be the cause of this and does anyone have experienced this?
I have the pa1xpro

Hi Milo,
When you move a volume slider just a little bit, the according part will change to the actual (psysical) position of that slider.
So for instance when your bass volume is set to 127 and the slider is halfway up, the bass volume will drop to around 64 when the bass volume slider is moved just a bit. My thought on your problem is that this slider of your Pa1X might be a bit wobbly/unstable and is unintended moved by playing your keyboard with a bit of enthousiasm. Try setting the slider to the desired volume and play for let's say ten hours and see if the volume dropping occurs again.
Another workaround (if my assumption is right) would be to set the sliders to another mode (drawbars/A/B) so moving the involved slider would not cause the volume of the bass part to drop.

As a general rule, when I use midi-files, I ALWAYS set all sliders (on the mixer-part of the PAX) to full before I load the file.
If you act - create or compose - you live.

Well speaking of Bass "Dropouts" I posted a similar-ISH problem last month.
When I play certain (well used) Midi Files - usually on my 2nd Sequencer - the bass is COMPLETELY gone!
I have to then reload - VERY embarassing in the middle of a gig.
Sure, you can get away with playing a left handed Bass Part, but I'd rather have the whole Midi Sequence as normal.
For the record, I recieved some good advice/help, but unfortunately no-one has really been able to pinpoint the exact cause, (and therefore solution) to the problem.....

Just pretend I've written something funny, yet wise and ironic here...

Likewise on mine, however with me it's the other way;
Previously edited and MUTED tracks will sound again at startup of the midi, but this is easily corrected by entering the volume-page on-screen and press "Mute"-button.
Maybe your problem could be corrected in a similare fashion?
