Digging Outpost and Lo-Ride Sci Fi especially. Were these 4 tracks all done with EMX/ESX alone, or other gear too?
EMX-1, KP3, MachineDrum UW+, Octatrack, FCB-1010 Pedal, Mackie PA, Taylor T5

Louis Haiman : Formless EP

@Chad

Yeah...it "sounds" like he's filtering/ mixing through the EMX midi/ audio input/ output...especially on "Outpost".

eTribes don't offer that type of polyphony - SHAME!

So, sounds like bass and rhythm elements all done on EMX. Pads done on some type of external module. (I think it's a Triton. I've seen his setup real close. Simple.)

Melodies can be done on either EMX or external synth.

Overall, very resourceful use of EMX with great results.

Lots of electronic music is a dead give away when it's done on software ie: Ableton (Not knocking it. I use it.) So, it's nice to hear some stuff that you can't quite put your finger on.

...and regarding software, I know the EMX/ ESX can do all the things that Ableton does (at least with sounds and warping) throw a Kaoss pad in for good measure.

I REALLY hope KORG continues to develop the Electribe. I can envision a next generation monster with USB and Polyphony....ahhhh.....

Louis uses a Kp3 and one of the TR sytns as well.
It's not 100% Electribe, but it's very well done nonetheless

here's a snippet of an email from Louis

Yes, also mostly done on the Electribe MX with the Triton Le jacked into the Audio Inputs for some added texture.

PEACE
