Your Sample Library for SX

Post by TheFrostE »

just wondering, when most of you got your ESX (if you got one) did you find yourself using any of the samples that were pre-loaded or did you just back everything up and wipe the whole ESX and put all of your own stuff on it?

i made a save on my card for the stock sounds and patterns... then cleared its out totally... the sounds are ok for what they are but its sorta like being given the clues to the mystery without having yo find them yourself... how many different ways could people possibly flip those sounds? i dont sample live for everything.. i get stuff from all over the web and mp3s youtube whatever and chop on my computer for most of the work.. then dump them on the esx

i think i may do the same...i just have to find a darn smart media card around for cheap...too bad they restricted it to just SM AND only 128mb. :( would be nice to have an electribe with a USB port and interface made so you can throw stuff on an external HD or flash drive. (wishful thinking) :p

You know I actually played around with the stock presets for about 2 weeks before wiping the entire memory and saving everything to a 32MB card, and loading my own sounds.
In all honesty though their are some decent sounds amongst the stock presets..a few of the rim shots and a few of the single cycle waveforms come to mind.
I say just wait until you find a card to back everything up to....because I imagine some of those presets might come in handy when you least expect it :)

I've had mine for nearly two weeks now (first post). Moved everything to the card except for many of the bass drums, snares and high hats. While I'm definitely looking forward to collecting my own, I need something to play with until then.
