Using the EXB-SMPL - saving sounds

Post by superjojo »

Just installed the EXB-SMPL today. I'm doing what the manual says to save a new sound (Copy to MS No. and choosing a # to save it to). To make sure it's been saved, I turn the TR off and when I turn it back on, the sound is no longer there. What step am I missing?

the contents of sample RAM are not stored on power off (nor on any KORG workstation). you have to load them from the SD/SM card every time you turn on (which can take a few minutes).

you can save your entire sampling RAM contents using the save sampling data or the save all command in media mode.

Here's what you need ---- just go to the post on the 1st page of this korg forum named "Still looking for 128MB smartmedia cards?"( about 35 posts down from Ya) -- go to either suggested sites --buy card --PRESTO-- you now can save your samples, songs, cue lists ,combos, etc. I judt bought 2 cards last nite!

well, the OP already stated that they are using a TR, which takes SD cards. so no need for that - SD cards are used by many cameras, MP3 players, and smartphones still, and are pretty easy to get hold of. Make sure you use one less than 2GB and definitely not SDHC though.
