Every Korg Customer Must Read!!!

Post by Niki_Keyz »

H guys. I am from Michigan and i am a happy korg customer. I have used korg for about 10 years. I would never switch to anything else. But one thing bothers me about the korg that they should fix and update.

The korg pa800 has 64mb. The korg pa2x has 128mb. I see that you get more space on the 2x but............where do you put your loops and sounds at. Your user1 and user2 group have only 16 pages. Once they are filled, and you still have more MB space, where do you put the other samples. Thats the thing i dont like about the 2x.

My friend has the 2x and his user1 and user2 group and completely filled. But he still has more than 50 mb left in space. He wants to put some more loops in but has no room to put them.

Korg needs to either add more pages to user groups or do something about this.

Thank you........

Good idea, i think Korg should definately work on that. In a way you wouldn't be asking for more MB as much as pages.

You can rewrite on sounds you don't like.

Hersh,

I don't think Niki was after that response. His requests are certainly valid since Korg has managed to provide the storage but not the space.

We need only pro maded Sounds and styles as Upgrade.
Where is so much new sounds based on samples?
Where is Styles(PRO MADED) from KORG?
even if we heave 500 MB, there is nothing to save!
I heave my samples , And i use only a few of them, THAT I REALY NEED!
Rest is , NOTHING!

This is just one thing that they should work on. There is a lot of musicians that really dont use alot of MB space but I do. I sample a lot of balkan loops and sounds. But having the same beats from the pa-60 to the pa-2x is ridiculous. I know there a few more styles but come on.....they have to make completely new styles for different keyboards. Hopefully by next year, korg will make a new keyboard that will satisfy every costumer in everyway.

Why should Korg change this - these keyboards are not samplers - they are Arranger keyboards and simply have a sampling facility - if you need lots on RAM then you should consider using a PC or a Sampler Keyboard/module.

OK, maybe we say to Korg "...hey, when you are developing the next generation of Arrangers, can we have the ability to install a significant amount of extra RAM for samples...". It is ridiculous to expect Korg to "update" our current keyboards for this... their specifications and limitations have always been crystal clear....

Wow wouldn't that be something - I bet it would cost well over $30,000

If we collate EVERY request/desire/need from every owner from every country for every genre and expect a keyboard to do it all then we are really asking for an "open" keyboard - that is, you buy the keyboard, then add as much RAM as you need, then buy all the styles and sounds you need, buy the extra peripherals you want (blueray,DVD,diskette,USB drive etc...)

Well "LIONTRACS" has been heading in this direction for some time now (gotta love LINUX).... http://www.lionstracs.com/store/

Niki,

once you're done and fill up all the 16 pages in user1 and user2. then u can start using the factory sounds locations to overwrite your sounds over them. find out the sounds you don't like and will never use of the factory sounds and init. them and create your own using the ROM or RAM samples. but remeber first you will need to allow that in the media section under the pref. tap.
the same apply to styles and pads. you just need to take the "factroy style and pad protection" check mark OFF.

good luck
