Applying STSs to multiple styles ?
I know there's been topics regarding locking STSs, and till this day, I don't know why that options doesn't exist. However, is there a way I can apply all my STSs to a set of new styles ? Its going to take a long time doing them one by one. Thanks.

Hi rbalaa. Here's something to consider. Written by one of our Members here on the Forum...
"STS Lock" function would be a logical addition to Pa functionality:
But here's a possibility for consideration:
1]. Turn off the SINGLE TOUCH button [so that changing styles/songs doesn't
change Keyboard Tracks].
2]. Go to Global > General Controls > Interface, and tick "Auto Performance
Select". [If you like it this way, you'll want to save the Global settings.]
3]. On the RH side of the panel, turn on Performance Select, and turn off
Style Change.
Now, just one press of a Performance button selects the first Performance in
that bank.
So, you can store your 10 favourite Performances [or STS] in the first slot
of each of the 10 banks, and select those 10 with just one button press. It's
like having 10 STS buttons!
Then, press the button to select the lower row of Performance buttons, and
you have yet another 10 Performances [or STS] ready to go with just one
button press again.
If you only need 4 Performances [STS], that's fine. You might even find the
Performance buttons easier to get to than the 4 STS buttons.

Thank you for your help. That's a way around it. The only issue issue here is that if you wanted to switch to a new style and at the same time switch to a new performance, you will be off on your cue, because your performance selection wil cancel the style change if you press it before the end of the bar.

Are you sure? I never noticed that happening so long as Style Change is turned off when you press the Performance ... the performance buttons then behave just like STS buttons ... no difference ...rbalaa wrote:Thank you for your help. I can't confirm it right now, but I'm sure that if I was switching styles, I must wait for the change to switch before I can choose my new performance. Unless I change the performance first then quickly go back to my style page, but sometimes there's not enough time to do that. Sounds confusing
thanks.

thanks.

Hi Ron, very good idea. I think that the easiest way that could be implemented would be through the Global 'locks' page with a simple tick box. Maybe it could be done or maybe not but a possible solution in an update in the absence of a dedicated mechanical button...Ron wrote:I say again ... an STS Lock function would be a welcome addition.
I know there are work-arounds but it would be so much easier just to press a button that holds the four current STS settings.

Hi Keith,
I only commented because this comes up from time to time and I still feel, as I said before, that some sort of an STS lock would be a nice addition to the keyboard.
I took a minute to look back through the thread "Still confused about STS's. songbook STS's???" In that thread I said that ..."I would be very happy if the Single Touch LED OFF mode could become exactly this. (STS lock) It really is not very useful to me in its present form where only the current KB settings are kept when changing styles and then only to be lost as soon as another STS is selected."
There were several other suggestions in the same discussion on how the feature might be implemented without an additional button on the keyboard.
I doubt this is going anywhere, but I can't help but notice the number of times it comes up.
Best regards and thanks again for helping and sharing as you do.

Pa5X, Pa4X, KronosX, BIAB, Cakewalk
Mr Nice, that's EXACTLY how it should be done, just a simple "lock" icon in global menu. That would make a world of difference.
90% of the time, I only need 4 instruments at once to use while playing. I know your solution to the Performances used as STS works but that's too many STSs, most of us don't need that much. And again the issue is that it will cancel your style change selection, I confirmed it yesterday.
We just need Rob to agree ! Even if Korg doesn't do anything about it, lol

If Styles is switched OFF no performance changes anything nor the Style.rbalaa wrote:I can't confirm it right now, but I'm sure that if I was switching styles, I must wait for the change to switch before I can choose my new performance. The Best way to have sounds is in both, performance or STS, then you
can access them from any Style.

Beat1 Beat5
Beat2 Beat6
Beat3 Beat7
Beat4 Beat8
Assume I selected "Beat2"
Jumping to Beat2 will be canceled IF I select a performance before waiting for the bar to end. It would be nice if the pa would register my selection in memory and still allow performance selection freely.

If thats so make your life easier another way, SAVE 4STS that you use the most
and shut off STS. Then before you switch the style just select STS and change
the syle, it will work perfectly...OR for the next style save its propper STS in it.

Thats an interesting theme.
Its not possible to lock a set of 4 STS. And each style will bring up a new STS-Set. When the Single-Touch-LED is "OFF" the activ last STS will stay activ, but the display-STSs will be overwritten.
The same happens when we select a new SB-Entry.
So we can play with 5 STS. At the beginning with the old STS and after pressing to a new sts with the 4 new sts.
The lock-function for an STS-Set is a feature for the wish-list.
And I want have the possibility to browse through the songbook-STSs.
I´m missing a list of all SB-STS which i´ve designed in weeks and months.
When we would able to select a complete STS-Set with 4 STS at once, we would have less problems by handling our own creativity.
We would save a lot of time, and when there were a lock-function
all user would be lucky.
