How to load PCG file into a selected bank?

Post by hangee_77 »

Hi,

I own a Korg Trinity plus + full options.

I wonder how to load a PCG file into a selected bank (let say bank D), and I don't want my bank C got erased.

Thanks.

You can't load a PCG file into a bank.

I don't know if the Trinity works the same way as the Triton line, but if so, here's what you can do. In media mode, find the PCG on your device and Open (NOT load) it. This'll show you the individual banks of programs and combis. Pick the bank you want and choose to load it, and you can pick the bank on the keyboard that you're loading it into.

hi Kanthos,

I think it is different with Trinity, because media mode doesn't appear in Trinity.

Fair enough. I still suspect that there's a way in the loading process on the Trinity to selectively load from a PCG. You could try saving a PCG of everything currently in your Trinity and then going through the load process to see what options you might have; because you'll have just saved everything, you're not going to permanently lose all your work.

well does the trinity have a 'disk' mode? on some tritons they also have disk mode instead of media mode buttons, but the function is the same.

Sounds like the Triton is the same as Trinity.

For media mode, just press the Disk button.

As mentioned, pick a PCG but instead of selecting Load select "Open" instead. This allows you to browse and navigate the PCG file at a lower level. Pick Programs and select Open. Pick a bank, and then select Load > Load Selected (as you would normally). It'll ask you which bank you want to load it into.

It's all in the Trinity manual - the Parameter Guide. If you don't have the manual, you can find all of them here: http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... hp?t=45892

Edit: XTrade got in there before me.

you can go as far as loading just single patches if you keep choosing open. once the sound is selected choose load then look at the screen carefully and you'll see you can load it to an exact location. also if you use Trinitro, you can load many pcg's and drag your favorite sounds to banks and add and delete at will and save. copy to a floppy and you can load all your favorite sounds into any banks you wish.
