Can't record in with midi? - EMX1

I can't get the EMX1 to record the notes from my midi controller. It will trigger the sound, but not record into the pattern. Did I miss something or does it not do this? I don't want to program it from the small keypad on the machine. I need it to record more than one part (midi 1,2,3,4,5) simultaneously while its recording/playing via my midi controller.

I got same issue, my emx can play what's input on MIDI INPUT but it won't record it

yes, It would have made it super useful with your program! But If I remember correctly my old model electribes did not do this either.

It works fine when I use Cubase for eg, then put electribe on RECORD mode (waiting for the PLAY button to be pressed). (putting Emx on ext sync, then play on cubase.

But it won't work if i play on a simple midi keyboard while emx is on int sequencer and recording.
