Ozone 4 Anybody trying the upgrade?

Post by georgeinar »

Let's start a thread on Ozone 4 comments and suggestions.

I know there are several Ozone 3 users here. I just upgraded to Ozone 4 and have tinkered around a bit. Not sure. The jury is out. It's 79 bucks if you haven't looked into it yet. Seems they've dressed it up a bit, I won't know the quality until I get a real project going with it.

Hi George!
Can't help you with Ozone 4 improovements, as I find Ozone 3 to be really great, and really perfect, it can do everything you need.
The only thing I think it should have been improoved is CPU efficence, as it seemed to be quite heavy-loading it.

I am loving some of the new presets in Ozone 4. There are some definate enhancements and the output is even more polished I believe. You can hear my song when I post it for March.

Hi George and Diego,

I went for it as well, although I still wait on my version, I ordered version 3 to upgrade to 4 at no costs, should be here end of March. For a 100 Euros I think this was a steal.

I am curious how ozone4 compares to this package here:

There are some good videos on the left menue, check em out.

well, ozone 3 and 4 are both very powerful mastering software that is quite easy to master, though it's overwhelming at first to know of all the many types of effects which you will choose to use.

I have not upgraded yet. I'm simply not convinced that spending 70 euro on the upgrade is a good idea but I'm looking forward to your views on that.

Sewa: I'm really glad I got the upgrade. The presets are more powerful than the last ones and there are better options and flexibility eg there are internal meters that you can adjust while in a window and it all just seems better integrated as a whole and my songs have more punch IMO than before, though some of that is experience too.

Thanks George; right now I'm studying the 'mastering guide' that is available at Ozone's website as I'd like to re-master couple of my older tunes.

If their offer is still valid, I might as well upgrade.

I should study that too. I do a lot of just winging it by ear. That guide sounds interesting. I"ll check it out.

its not really worth the extra money if you are just mastering your own stuff.
