I've been told I need a small keyboard combo amp and/or a Di Box to connect to the main sound desk for my upcoming gig! Does anyone know what a Di Box is and how it works? Does it connect to the amp or my synth?
Can you buy keyboard combo amps with a Di Box in it or do I have buy both?
Many Thanks

Check out the Samson S Direct Plus, stereo DI box.
Keyboard amps are a poor value, particularly the cheap ones. Powered PA speakers work great, but it depends on your budget and the type of music you play. If you need to overcome a band with high stage volume, you need to spend some serious cash to get powerful PA speakers as monitors. In-ear monitors are becoming the preferred choice, if you plan to do many gigs. IEMs help to eliminate feedback from stage monitors, let you control your own monitor level, and provide hearing protection with limiters. But they get expensive. You might just start with some open-ear headphones, if you only need to monitor your keyboard along with whatever stage monitors are provided.
