And in a longer perspective (with a universal version) imagine how cool this really is. Whenever all programs w/multisamples for your favorite combis are loaded (neither more nor less) one just "save all" etc. and don't have to repeat this procedure unless you wanna add or remove a program later. That way you can really get a whole lot out of your 2 GB RAM. I'm looking forward to what the future brings. Great job, Sharp!

You come up with some really great ideas. Forgive a dumb question. Will we have the flexiblity to download the patches we want to use? Also, after we're done, can we delete them from the Bank or will they have to be overwritten?

Sorry, I'm not sure what your asking there. There is no need to delete anything, the program will overwrite the KSC file left on the hard disk every time you change the selections of sounds you want in your custom bank.

If you want to reset everything and start over, you simply press Reset.

No. It's a little more simple and clever than that.

The OASYS already allows you to open a PCG file and audition the sounds in the file one by one and even load them one by one. The problem with it though is it normally only works with sound that use the factory ROM data and never user samples unless they are all loaded to memory before hand. So this does not in anyway allow you to create a custom library out of a collection because the OASYS cannot load the samples needed to make the sounds you select work on it's own.

This is where KSC GEN comes in.

You select the sounds you want in KSC GEN and it will generate a KSC file that is compatible with your selection.

You then load that into the OASYS.

Now when you use the OPEN option on the OASYS the sound you selected work and so can be loaded ““anywhere”” in memory one by one using the menus already provided.

KSC GEN will even generate a printout of the sound so if your working away from the PC you can use the printout rather than trying to remember what you had selected.

If any of this is unclear, just wait untill I'm finished and I have the video's online. You can create a custom library in seconds with this and it's dead easy to use.

Here's a summary for use - KSC GEN.
1: Launch the program

2: Tick the box beside the name of your favourite sounds which you wish to add to your custom library. Feel free to use the Media Player to actually listen to the sound to refresh your memory.

3: Press the button called Print PCG and print off your list of program sounds selected.

4: Press the button called Write KSC. This will write a KSC file to your computers hard disk called KSCGEN.KSC which you will find in the same directory where you installed KSC GEN.

5: Copy the KSCGEN.KSC file generated by the program to the folder where you have OASYS ASSAULT sitting your your OASYS hard disk and then load the file to memory. This will load only the multisamples needed to make the sound you selected work.

6: Take the printout of the Program list and touch the ASSAULT.PCG file on the OASYS and press OPEN. Navigate to the individual sounds and using the tab in the top right of the screen load the sounds on the list to memory that you selected. You can load these anywhere to the internal memory and they will still function correctly.

Your now done & have created custom version of OASYS ASSAULT.

Watched the demo - and now I wonder if I overlooked it or misunderstood something. But how does the whole stuff go into Oasys? Don't I need a pcg and a ksc file in the end, which I load onto the Oasys HD (presumably into the same folder as the sample-folder is stored)?
It's cool you've included mp3-demosounds as well. That explains the size of your download-file I suppose. Writing 100+MB of code in just a few days seemed too unlikely.
All in all: SUPER!!

@Karo: I'd wish to see something similar for the Karo-Libraries too! That would enable the simultaneous use of more libraries!

Yes, sorry about that. We moved to a new email server and I shut down the store during this process because things didn't go smoothly.

Watched the demo - and now I wonder if I overlooked it or misunderstood something.

The problem with creating a custom library is dealing with the samples, not the PCG file. You can already use the OPEN option and load the PCG file anyway you want directly on the OASYS. The problem with this though is nothing works will work because the samples won't be in memory and even if you knew what you needed and loaded them manually one by one, you would still have to edit all the sounds and fix the OSC connection to the multisampels.


This is where KSC GEN steps in and totally automates the entire process.

1: Use KSC GEN to select the sounds you want in your library.
2: Press the Print PCG button to print out the list of sounds you selected.
3: Press the Write KSC button. This will write a file to your hard disk called KSCGEN.KSC You will find this file at C:\Program Files\KSC GEN 1\
4: Copy the KSCGEN.KSC to your OASYS and place it in the same folder as the ASSAULT.KSC file.
5: Select the ASSAULT.PCG file and touch OPEN until you see the individual sounds.
6: Using the printout and the tab in the top right of the OASYS screen, load the sounds anywhere in memory you want..
7: Now for the cool part, load the KSCGEN.KSC file and this will fix everything and make all the sounds you selected work.

You now have a fully optimism custom library in memory.

That explains the size of your download-file I suppose. Writing 100+MB of code in just a few days seemed too unlikely

lol.... Yeah, 99/% of that is just mp3 files.
