Please help: getting confused here with saving/loading media

Post by CJ4ever »

Hi all,

don't know how to describe the case, but since I am now really going to use my Triton Le very intensive at live band performances I need some advice/help:

What do I want:

- Save my own self-created combi's with all its (midi-)settings on Smartmedia

- Also want to save the soundsets of songs I created in seq.-mode as songs on the Smartmedia (so not really a song, but just set-up a soundset of sounds I need to play live in the band)

What did I already do:

- I did save combi's and songs in selfcreated combi-directory and song-directory

- I did manage to load back a song

- I did NOT manage to load a saved combi from Smartmedia

Please help me with:

- If I load a combi, where can I find it once loaded ? (I only saw message that it was writing it into internal memory)

- Can I load more combi's at a time ? (This means combi's that are used in the live set playlist)

- Is it possible to load more songs at one time and how does that work ?

I tried a few ways a few times but somehow I can not manage it :(

I really like my Le.............hope one day it also lets me love it..........

Combis are loaded into whichever bank and combi slot you selected at the time of loading (probably defaulting to A000 if you didn't change anything). You can load single combis, banks, or an entire PCG (all your programs, combis, and global data) at once.

If you want to load multiple songs from a single SNG file, you have to save multiple songs to a single SNG file first. When you save a SNG, it saves everything that's currently in memory.

You should probably flip through the Media Mode section of the manual; this is all pretty easy stuff and it's described well there. (If you can't find the LE's manual online, I think the TR's manual is still up on Korg's website, and it should be virtually the same).

Thank you for your reply Kanthos !

Yes, I did read the media-section in the manual-book many times and tried and tried but somehow it still confused me.

But I will surely use your advices, thank you !

If you want to get multiple songs into the sequencer mode at once, then load them individually choosing 'append' instead of 'clear' in the load dialogue. this will load the song into the next available song slot.

Then when you go back to media mode to save your sequencer data, that saves everything that is currently in the sequencer at that moment, so that would be all of the currently loaded songs into the one file that you choose to save to.
