getting the m3

i was thinking of getting the m3, does it have a vst editor like the korg x50?

and does the vst editor have the new piano roll in it for the seq update ive heard about?

It does have a VST editor.

I haven't used it, but I highly doubt it has a piano roll in it. Why would Korg essentially rewrite a DAW within a plugin to be used in a DAW? If you can hook your M3 up to a computer, you have (or can get really cheaply) a DAW to record data, doing what the sequencer would do.

well to respond to kanthos, vst's such as bfd2 have internal midi editors, or a piano roll inside the vst, sync'd , and it makes perfect sense. having seen the new piano roll window in the m3 itself, id think korg might try to implement it somehow in the vst, . as an example of what you mentioned on why korg would add a piano roll to the vst editor. and i wouldn't consider adding that to the editor writing a daw, its a small feature that is far from a daw.

The VST editor has no sequencer functionality whatsoever. You'll either have to use the M3's touchscreen to edit sequencer data, or just use the sequencer in your DAW.

ok thats good to know, also, is it possible to make custom drum kits with imported wav files?

Yes, custom drum kits are possible... there are a lot of nice routing capabilities, and each key gets EQ and Drive.. each key with upto 4 stereo samples... Then the drums program has same filter, LFOs... etc as the regular program... so lots of possibilities....... But, it's not straight forward. The kits can only be edited from Global mode, and all programs using that kit will be affected....

ok thanks shakil, i see you have a fantom-g, then you know how in the fantom you can assign 8 wavs, to each key, up to like 70 keys then save the kit to a different name as a user kit, is it basically similar then in the korg to do this?
